CAMIGUIN ACTIVATES TASK FORCE DISIPLINA TO CURB COMMUNITY VIOLENCE

The provincial government of Camiguin launched a specialized operational unit on Friday aimed at strengthening community-led initiatives to prevent public disruptions and violence.

Known as Task Force Disiplina, the newly mobilized group is responsible for enforcing the Standard Security Plans for Barangay Public Events, which have already been distributed across all five municipalities and local villages within the island province.

Under this operational protocol, the security force will apply a strict policy enforcing “Zero Tolerance Against Violence and Public Disturbances” throughout local town and village festivals, alongside other major public gatherings.

The joint operational group brings together local government responders through their Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices, collaborating alongside personnel from the Philippine Coast Guard, the Bureau of Fire Protection, and the Philippine National Police.

To further refine the unit’s operational hierarchy and strengthen public safety protocols, officials are currently drafting a standardized security framework.

Camiguin Governor Xavier Jesus Romualdo reaffirmed the province’s commitment to maintaining order, noting his leadership role as head of the Regional Peace and Order Council for Northern Mindanao.

”It is a continuing responsibility of the RPOC-10 to ensure Northern Mindanao remains focused, coordinated, and responsive,” he said.
