CARLOS YULO DISCONNECTS FROM SOCIAL MEDIA TO FOCUS ON ASIAN GAMES

NAGOYA, Japan — Two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo has taken a temporary break from his phone and social media accounts to focus entirely on his upcoming events at the 20th Asian Games held at the Nagoya General Gymnasium Rainbow Hall.

The Filipino star gymnast aims to secure his first Asian Games gold medal by minimizing all digital distractions ahead of Monday’s, September 21, qualification round.

His partner, Chloe San Jose, verified the digital hiatus, noting that Yulo typically minimizes external noise while gearing up for major athletic events.

“We always pray for positivity,” said San Jose. “I have known Carlos for a longtime. He does not like to be disturbed when he is training or prioritizing his routines. So far, everything is doing well with his coach and brother Karl Eldrew.”

Yulo enters the tournament seeking a stronger podium finish following his 2018 appearance in Jakarta, where he finished fourth in the vault and seventh in the floor exercise.

He is joined in Japan by his brother Karl Eldrew, along with a support team consisting of coach Aldrin Castañeda, physiotherapist Bethel Solano, and assistant Josh Garcia.
