MANILA — Powered by a relentless offensive display from Sisi Rondina-Rosales and Eya Laure, the Choco Mucho Flying Titans swept past ZUS Coffee, 25-20, 25-17, 25-20, to capture their second consecutive victory in the PVL All-Filipino Conference on Thursday, October 15.
Rosales and Laure spearheaded the attack by combining for 27 of the team’s 50 total spikes, finishing with 15 and 13 points respectively. The dominant straight-set triumph pushed the Flying Titans to the top of the standings with an early 2-0 record, building on their hard-fought five-set opening win against the Capital1 Solar Spikers.
Choco Mucho needed just 1 hour and 18 minutes to dismantle the Thunderbelles, dictating the tempo from start to finish. Aside from their offensive firepower, the Flying Titans anchored their floor defense on Kat Tolentino and Jaila Atienza, who anchored the frontline by accounting for four of the squad’s six blocks.
The Flying Titans’ suffocating defense completely neutralized ZUS Coffee’s scoring options, preventing any player from the opposing side from breaking into double digits.
AC Miner paced the Thunderbelles with nine points, while Zam Nolasco, Riza Nogales, and Jolina Dela Cruz were held to eight, seven, and six points respectively.
