DONNY PANGILINAN BREAKS SILENCE ON BACKLASH OVER BABY DOLLS MEMBER’S INTIMATE DREAM REVEAL

Actor Donny Pangilinan has addressed the online controversy surrounding It’s Showtime Baby Dolls member Juby, who faced public backlash after sharing an intimate dream about him during a television appearance.

In an ABS-CBN News report, Donny shared that he understands the negative reactions from some viewers, viewing the subsequent public discussion as a healthy dialogue.

”Honestly, I understand naman where some people are coming from. I think it’s nice that they’re able to spark these types of conversations. I think these are very healthy conversations to have,” Donny said.

However, the actor noted that the appropriateness of certain topics depends heavily on the platform used, observing that the disclosure was made on a televised broadcast.

”Siguro it’s more of a question of whether certain things should be shared on different platforms,” he added.

Donny also expressed confidence that Juby had no malicious intent to cause offense, suggesting she may have simply been too comfortable during the interview. He considers the incident a learning curve for the group, who are relatively new to media appearances.

”I personally don’t think naman that she meant anything bad with it, to hurt someone. Baka masyado lang na naging komportable siya. I know this is just one of their first interviews. It was a learning experience for everyone, but ako, I wish them all the best,” he noted.

Addressing whether he felt offended, Donny admitted to feeling awkward rather than hurt, given that they belong to the same television network and might cross paths.

”Hindi naman offended, siguro mas awkward, kasi alam kong makikita ko sila. We’re on the same network, you know. Mas yun siguro,” he concluded.

The controversy originated from the October 18 episode of the late-night talk show Gandang Gabi Vice, where the seven members of the It’s Showtime Baby Dolls appeared as guests.

During the interview, host Vice Ganda asked the group which male celebrity they would dedicate their viral song “Oohh Lala Baby” to, prompting Juby to mention Donny and disclose her dream about him.
