SEOUL, South Korea — Former NCT member Mark Lee has released “Happiest,” serving as the second pre-release single from his upcoming debut full-length independent album, “Windmill,” slated to drop on December 4.
The alternative pop and R&B track explores the theme of discovering true contentment and fulfillment beyond material wealth and personal milestones. Co-written by Mark himself, the song features production work by Bart Schoudel—known for his collaborations with Selena Gomez—and mixing by Josh Gudwin, who has previously worked with Justin Bieber.
The accompanying music video, directed by Colin Tilley, features Mark alongside his brother, Jon Lee, and a group of friends gathered for a holiday celebration. The narrative centers on a conversation discussing life’s ultimate desires, culminating in Mark expressing his pursuit of genuine happiness.
“Happiest” follows the rollout of “Windmill,” which marks Mark’s first full-length album as an independent artist.
He is heavily involved in the project, having co-written every track on the record while actively contributing to its musical direction, visual aesthetics, and storytelling.
