Gilas Pilipinas finished its campaign in the 2026 Hana Bank Invitational without a win after falling to host South Korea, 69-43, on Sunday, September 6, at the Suwon KT Sonic Boom Arena.
The defeat marked the second consecutive loss for the Philippine squad against the South Koreans in the exhibition series.
Struggling early on offense, the Nationals scored only 14 points throughout the first half. South Korea capitalized on the cold shooting display to build a comfortable early lead and dictated the tempo for the remainder of the contest.
Justine Baltazar led the scoring effort for Gilas with 14 points and six rebounds, while Adrian Nocum contributed nine points.
Despite their offensive struggles, the Filipinos made defensive strides compared to their previous meeting. After allowing 81 points in their first match, Gilas held South Korea to 69 points and contained star guard Lee Hyun Jung—who scored 27 points in their initial encounter—to just six points.
Kisang Yu top-scored for South Korea with 15 points. NBA Summer League veteran Lee Jung Hyun delivered a double-double performance of 11 points, 15 rebounds, and six assists, while Yeo Junseok and Jang Jaeseok added 14 and 10 points, respectively.
Gilas Pilipinas now shifts its attention to the final preparations for the upcoming 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, set to open next week.
