HOUSE ADOPTS RESOLUTION HONORING BINI FOR LANDMARK COACHELLA DEBUT

The House of Representatives officially adopted a resolution on Wednesday to honor the P-pop sensation BINI following their landmark appearance at Coachella, one of the world’s most prestigious music festivals.

House Resolution No. 1001 formally congratulates the eight-member ensemble for making history as the first Filipino pop group to grace the Coachella stage. The measure highlights the group’s significant role in elevating Filipino talent and culture on the international map.

The resolution was backed by 14 principal authors, including Gabriela Party-list Representative Sarah Elago and ACT Teachers Party-list Representative Antonio Tinio, signaling broad legislative support for the group’s cultural impact.

The ABS-CBN-led act captivated the global audience by weaving traditional Filipino elements into their high-energy set. Fans and festival-goers witnessed live performances of their chart-topping hits, including:

  • ”Karera”
  • ”Salamin, Salamin”
  • Their signature summer anthem, “Pantropiko”

This House commendation follows a similar gesture from the Senate, which previously passed a resolution hailing BINI’s performance as a “historic milestone” for Philippine music.

By securing recognition from both chambers of Congress, BINI solidifies their status as a national cultural powerhouse.
