QUEZON CITY — Kapamilya actor Joshua Garcia recently opened up about managing romance alongside his showbiz career, noting that a committed relationship does not get in the way of professional success as long as boundaries are respected.
During an appearance on the YouTube vlog of content creator Benedict Cua, Garcia discussed how maintaining a healthy relationship in the entertainment industry comes down to dedication and maturity.
The actor, who is currently in a relationship with non-showbiz partner Emilienne Vigier, emphasized that his work commitments never become a source of conflict.
”I’m in a relationship right now, non-showbiz. Ginagawa ko lang ay 100% sa work ko…parang kahit ano pang gawin ko diyan sa work ko, hindi naman talaga siya magagalit,” Garcia shared.
He added that keeping a strong focus on his craft is essential: “As long as alam mo ‘yung ginagawa mo and you are professional pa rin sa craft mo, passion mo pa rin siya.”
Reflecting on his career path, Garcia also touched on his experiences with love teams.
While he fondly recalled watching iconic pairings like KathNiel or the love team of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, on the silver screen before entering the industry himself, he expressed an appreciation for versatility, drawing inspiration from seasoned actors like John Lloyd Cruz.
”Ang saya ng love team. You get to experience something na napapanood mo lang. Kasi my first sa sinehan KathNiel ‘yun ang first ko na magsine talaga, na napapanood. Ang saya rin ng love team ang dami mong matutunan,” he said, before adding, “Pero mas masaya if you are like John Lloyd that you get to be paired with anyone.”
Garcia also took a moment to look back on his past partnership with former onscreen partner Julia Barretto, acknowledging the valuable foundation it provided for his acting journey.
”It’s part of your job; it’s part of your journey. Hindi lahat nabibigyan ng ganyang, like me, with Julia,” he stated. “I love Julia, may special place siya sa aking puso.”
