Regional music gathering LaLaLa Fest expanded its footprint to the Philippines, staging its inaugural local edition on August 21 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
Organized by Wilbros Live, the Manila event brought together a genre-spanning lineup of global headliners, regional acts, and top local talent for a market long recognized for its passionate live music audiences.
American singer-songwriter and producer Steve Lacy anchored the festival’s international roster, delivering a set focused on his signature alternative R&B sound. His performance arrived as his recent single “oh yeah?”—taken from his latest project of the same title—entered the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 at No. 39.
Joining Lacy on the international bill were:
- FLO: The British R&B group kicked off the Asian leg of their “Therapy At The Club” tour with their Manila stop.
- Two Door Cinema Club: The Northern Irish indie-rock outfit delivered a high-energy set as they celebrated the 15th anniversary of their breakout debut album, Tourist History.
- Dermot Kennedy & Matthew Ifield: Irish singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy and rising Australian artist Matthew Ifield rounded out the global lineup.
The festival also highlighted regional and local acts across several stages. Indonesia’s Isyana Sarasvati, Thailand’s KIKI, and South Korea’s HOA represented the broader Asian music scene, while Ben&Ben, Maki, Over October, Dilaw, and fitterkarma showcased current Original Pilipino Music (OPM).
Electronic music fans were catered to with a dedicated DJ stage featuring electronic and dance sets from OOKAY, Rave Republic, Harry Hayes, and Lizzy Wang.
Originally established in Indonesia, LaLaLa Fest’s expansion into the Philippines marks another key milestone in its growth across Southeast Asia.
