SM Prime Holdings has officially confirmed that a major K-pop sensation is scheduled to take the stage at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Parañaque City next year.
While the specific identity of the performers remains under wraps, the real estate giant assured fans that the arrangements for the high-profile event have been finalized.
The announcement was made by SM Prime President Jeffrey Lim during a media briefing held after the company’s annual stockholders’ meeting on April 28. Addressing the excitement surrounding future entertainment at their venues, Lim shared that the agreement for the upcoming show is already in place.
“The K-pop band that will perform next year—I think that deal is done already and they will be performing in the open grounds of SMDC,” Lim stated.
Although the executive stopped short of naming the specific group, he emphasized that the venue’s history of hosting massive international and local productions indicates another significant event is on the horizon.
The news has intensified rumors among fans, particularly as Live Nation Philippines has yet to announce the specific location for the Manila leg of BTS’ highly anticipated “Arirang” tour, currently set for March 13 and 14, 2027. To date, the BTS tour is the only officially confirmed K-pop event of that scale slated for the country next year.
The SMDC Festival Grounds has rapidly established itself as a premier destination for large-scale outdoor events in Metro Manila, featuring an open-air layout that can hold tens of thousands of spectators.
The venue previously hosted the historic reunion concert of the Eraserheads and a landmark performance by the P-pop group SB19, proving its capacity for managing massive crowds and elaborate stage setups.
