MALABON CITY, Philippines — Local authorities have bolstered the operational capabilities of the Malabon City Police Station following the turnover of 30 modern cellular radiophones designed to improve real-time coordination during emergency operations.
Mayor Jeannie Sandoval led the formal presentation of the Push-to-Talk over Cellular (POC) devices during the city government’s weekly flag-raising ceremony on Monday, September 28.
The upgraded communication units will allow officers in the field to instantly transmit urgent updates, synchronize tactical movements, and dispatch emergency personnel without delay.
“Napakahalaga ng mabilis at maayos na komunikasyon sa pagpapanatili ng kaligtasan at seguridad ng ating mga Malabueño. Sa pamamagitan ng mga radiophone na ito, mas mapapadali ang koordinasyon ng ating kapulisan at mas mapapabilis ang kanilang pagtugon sa mga insidente. Mahalaga na masiguro ang kaligtasan at kapakanan ng ating mga kababayan,” Sandoval said.
Sandoval emphasized that providing frontline responders with modern technology remains a cornerstone of the administration’s broader strategy to support law enforcement and public safety initiatives.
The devices were officially received on behalf of the local force by Malabon Police Chief Col. Kenneth Mission, along with PSSg. Renz Joseph Pamplona and Lt. Jairus Montero.
City Administrator Dr. Alexander Rosete highlighted that enhancing the police force’s communication infrastructure directly impacts how quickly response teams can be deployed across the municipality.
“We will continue to support our police and other frontliners by providing them with equipment that can help them in their daily service. Every step we take is aimed at making Malabon safer and better,” Rosete said.
The newly deployed radiophones will complement existing communication networks, linking police units more effectively with other city emergency management agencies during critical situations requiring immediate intervention.
