MEDIAQUEST AND MAYA PARTNER TO COMBAT DIGITAL FINANCIAL SCAMS

MediaQuest Holdings and digital finance platform Maya formally launched their strategic partnership on Thursday, June 11, to intensify consumer defense against online financial fraud and digital scams.

The collaboration was finalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing ceremony held at the Cignal Launchpad. Under the agreement, Maya joins MediaQuest’s flagship media and information literacy (MIL) advocacy program, “THINKaMuna Pilipinas.”

The corporate alliance aims to combine Maya’s financial technology expertise with MediaQuest’s vast broadcasting and print network to equip Filipinos with sharper digital literacy skills. The campaign focuses on training users to pause and evaluate online interactions to avoid falling victim to phishing, fake customer service representatives, and evolving cyber-fraud schemes.

This financial literacy expansion builds upon the broader mission of THINKaMuna Pilipinas, which previously partnered with organizations like the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) and telecom giants PLDT and Smart to counter disinformation.

Commenting on the foundational philosophy of the anti-fraud drive, MediaQuest Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan previously stressed the importance of individual vigilance in the digital age.

“The first fundamental step to counter this threat is to ThinkaMuna – to stop and think and do not mindlessly click, like and share,” Pangilinan said.

The integration of Maya into the campaign is expected to bring specialized educational content concerning digital banking safety, secure e-wallet practices, and proactive measures to identity fraudulent digital applications, shielding the scrolling public from economic loss.
