Actress and singer Nadine Lustre has expanded her musical comeback by releasing a collaborative Taglish single titled “Donuts” alongside Black Eyed Peas member Apl.de.ap on Saturday, September 5.
Lustre announced the release on Instagram, sharing photos of herself with the Filipino-American rapper set against a red sky backdrop.
“A little surreal making music with a legend, @apldeap. D O N U T S out on all platforms,” Lustre shared on social media.
The track combines Lustre’s vocal and rap delivery with Apl.de.ap’s verses, delivering a message centered on confidence and personal ownership. “Donuts” marks Lustre’s second track in quick succession following her August single “Personal”—which ended a three-year music hiatus—and her June 2023 release, “Overgrown.”
For Apl.de.ap, the collaboration aligns with his ongoing efforts to work alongside local talent in the Philippines and integrate his heritage into his discography, previously seen in tracks like “Bebot” and “The APL Song.”
The international hip-hop artist is also set to headline Manila’s “9RACE” music festival in October.
