CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — More than 100 families whose homes were damaged or destroyed by recent typhoons and the southwest monsoon, or habagat, have received a housing assistance package from the national government.
The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) spearheaded the distribution of shelter repair kits and construction materials to affected residents in the severely impacted town of Apalit.
According to DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling, the repair kits included essential tools alongside construction supplies such as corrugated galvanized iron sheets, plywood, lumber, wires, and nails.
“This is in compliance with the order of President Marcos to deliver necessary construction materials and repair kits to help our fellow Kapampangans here in Apalit recover,” said Aliling.
The relief effort aligns with the nationwide observance of National Shelter Month 2026, which features various housing services and community assistance programs rolled out by the agency throughout October.
