Video game franchise NBA 2K revealed on Wednesday, July 22, that San Antonio Spurs phenom Victor Wembanyama, Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, and former league MVP Derrick Rose have been chosen as the cover headliners for NBA 2K27.
Wembanyama is set to grace the cover of the title’s Standard Edition, whereas Clark takes center stage on the Deluxe Edition. Rose will be highlighted on the exclusive, limited-run Ultra Edition.
Global retail availability for the Standard Edition is set for Sept. 4, with gamers acquiring the Deluxe or Ultra editions gaining early access starting Aug. 28.
Reflecting on the cover reveal, Wembanyama called the milestone “a dream come true,” while Clark expressed that taking the cover spot “is special because this game reaches fans all over the world.”
For Rose—who previously headlined the cover of NBA 2K13—the feature holds significance far beyond just a personal accolade.
“This is a chance to inspire young athletes to stay obsessed with the game,” Rose said. “To show them that when you put in the countless hours of hard work, it rewards you.”
