OPM icon Ogie Alcasid is officially gearing up for a musical tribute to fathers this June, announcing a two-night concert event titled “Daddyokie” scheduled for June 19 and 20.
The concert, which will be held at the Proscenium Theater in Rockwell, Makati City, aims to celebrate Father’s Day through a nostalgic journey of hits from the 1980s and 1990s.
Alcasid, known as the “Ultimate Singer-Songwriter,” shared his excitement for the event on social media, inviting fellow fathers to take a well-deserved break.
“Daddies!!! Time for a break and join me as we sing the songs of the 80’s and 90’s!”
The “Daddyokie” repertoire is expected to feature updated versions of Alcasid’s own classic discography alongside popular radio hits from the vinyl and cassette era.
Organizers describe the event as an “unforgettable nostalgic night” designed to bring families together for world-class entertainment.
The show is slated to begin at 8:00 p.m. on both nights, with a running time of approximately two hours. Aside from the musical performances, the concert promises several surprises, staying true to the lighthearted and engaging performance style Alcasid is known for.
Tickets for the Father’s Day celebration are being handled through major platforms, as fans look forward to witnessing the reimagined versions of timeless OPM favorites.
