MANILA, Philippines — Jaspher “Sphere” Cabangon, a member of the P-pop boy group ECHO, has passed away, according to an official announcement from the group’s management.
The group’s management shared the news across its official social media channels without revealing the cause of death.
”With heavy hearts, we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our beloved ECHO Sphere. At this time, we humbly ask everyone to give his family, loved ones, and the ECHO members the privacy and space they need to grieve,” the statement said.
“Sphere will always be remembered for the light, warmth, and joy be brought to the people around him. His presence will forever remain a part of ECHO and in the hearts of everyone who came to know and love him,” it added. “Rest peacefully, Sphere. We love you!”
The announcement comes just a day after management informed supporters that Cabangon had been admitted to the hospital to focus on his medical recovery, though details regarding his condition were kept private.
Cabangon was part of ECHO’s eight-member lineup alongside Eoj, Aerys, Josh, Ming, James, Rhency, and Raf. The act made its official debut last August and has put out tracks including “ECHO,” “LLS (Leron Leron Sinta),” and “Isa’t Isa (1+1).”
