Quezon City is cutting red tape and simplifying government transactions to ease operations for local entrepreneurs, following announcements made by Mayor Joy Belmonte during her State of the City Address.
The city reported a massive economic milestone, contributing ₱1.4 trillion to the national economy in 2025—roughly six percent of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP). With over 70,000 registered businesses, Quezon City also claimed the top spot nationwide for revenue collection in 2025.
Digital Integration and Inter-Agency Sharing
To eliminate redundant paperwork, Quezon City has become the first local government unit (LGU) to integrate its systems with the Philippine Business Hub, eGovPH, and the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Business Name Registration System. This cross-agency connection allows offices to share data seamlessly, sparing business owners from repeatedly submitting the same information.
Further streamlining efforts include a partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
By the end of the year, the BFP will pull data directly from online business permit applications, effectively eliminating duplicate data entry for Fire Safety Inspection Certificates.
Expanded Digital Payments and Delivery Services
Local transactions are also going digital at the grassroots level. Under the barangay e-payment ordinance, all 142 barangays now accept digital payments—including GCash and Maya—for business clearance fees, ensuring funds go directly to the respective local units.
These updates complement existing platforms such as QC BizEasy for registrations and QC Pay Easy for electronic payments. Additionally, the QC Delivers initiative has successfully mailed over 289,000 official documents directly to business establishments, sparing owners from traveling to City Hall.
