Kapuso actor Ruru Madrid recently opened up about his past infidelity to longtime partner Bianca Umali, expressing immense gratitude after being granted a second chance.
In a candid interview with host Boy Abunda, Madrid reflected on his past mistakes and the deep appreciation he holds for Umali’s forgiveness.
“Siguro, yun yung pinagpapasalamat ko kay Bianca na kahit na nagkamali ako during that time–– I was 20 years old,” Madrid shared.
Clarifying that he was not offering his youth as an excuse, the actor noted that the period of separation—which lasted eight months before they reconciled—ultimately highlighted Umali’s significance in his life. The couple has now been together for eight years.
“Siguro nga tinuturing ko nga siyang blessing in disguise somehow dahil from there, nakita ko talaga yung kahalagahan ni Bianca,” he reflected. “Tinanggap niya ako ulit. Kahit naman sinong tao, pwede magbago–– ano mang klase ng pagkakamali yan, pwede pa rin mag bago ang tao. Ang Diyos nga natin, marunong magpatawad.”
Emphasizing that cheating is an intentional choice, Madrid stated that he has no intention of squandering the renewed trust between them.
He expressed strong confidence in the current stability of their relationship.
“Siguro marami lang akong pinanghahawakan sa panahon ngayon at sa buhay ko ngayon na bakit ko pa gagawin ‘to? Una sa lahat napakaganda ni Bianca at hindi na ako makakahanap ng katulad niya, hindi na ako makakahanap ng isang babaeng nagmahal sa akin ng katulad ng pagmamahal na binibigay niya,” he said.
Reflecting on the enduring lesson from that chapter, Madrid reaffirmed his commitment to staying faithful moving forward.
“Habambuhay kong panghahawakan yun at every time na makakaramdam ako ng mga temptasyon, mananalangin ako. Maalala ko na ang batas ay dapat sundin,” he concluded.
