MANILA, Philippines — Talent agency Star Magic has stepped in to protect one of its young talents, 13-year-old Michelle Garcia, following a wave of hostile comments directed at the minor on social media platforms.
The agency released an official statement across its digital channels expressing deep concern over the online toxicity aimed at Michelle, who is the daughter of actor Patrick Garcia.

Star Magic appealed to the public to exclude the teenager from lingering controversies involving adults.
”Star Magic is deeply concerned about the hurtful comments directed at our artist Michelle Garcia, who is only 13 years old.”
”We ask the public to refrain from involving Michelle in matters concerning adults that happened before she was born.”
”We are prepared to take appropriate action against those who continue to harass Michelle, in accordance with laws protecting children from abuse and libel.”
”We continue to support Michelle and look after her well-being.”
While the talent management arm did not cite specific individuals, it made clear that it is ready to pursue legal remedies under existing child protection and libel laws against anyone continuing to target the young actress.
The online backlash stemmed from a recent interview involving Patrick Garcia and talent manager Ogie Diaz. During the conversation, Patrick addressed his past separation from actress Jennylyn Mercado in 2008 and his absence during her pregnancy.
Patrick stated he decided to speak publicly after Michelle became the target of negative comments from internet users questioning his past actions.
The issue also prompted a response from Mercado’s representative, talent manager Becky Aguila, as well as her husband, actor Dennis Trillo.
Mercado’s camp announced that the actress intends to stay silent on the matter to maintain peace and privacy for both families, while also urging netizens to cease spreading hate toward Michelle.
