TRUMP FORMS NEW “SUPER INTELLIGENCE FORCE” TO LEAD FEDERAL AI INITIATIVES

WASHINGTON, D.C., United States — U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday, October 4, designated Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton to head a newly established government task force focused on artificial intelligence.

The administration has branded the panel as the “Super Intelligence Force” as part of Trump’s broader effort to reframe the term artificial intelligence as “super intelligence”. The announcement follows a meeting at the White House last week with top artificial intelligence executives, who agreed to a voluntary, non-binding pledge to self-regulate the sector’s rapid growth.

The task force is tasked with streamlining federal operations to maintain American leadership in the emerging field.

”to ensure that America continues to lead the World in Super Intelligence, which many say is bigger than the Industrial Revolution, and the Internet, and will protect the interests, and improve the lives, of all Americans,” Trump wrote in a social media statement on Sunday.

The Republican leader stated that the task force will engage with a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including general consumers, public interest groups, faith-based organizations, critical infrastructure operators, and artificial intelligence developers.

The leadership team alongside Clayton includes Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson, Pentagon Chief Technology Officer Emil Michael, and Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor. The advisory group will report directly to President Trump and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.
