TRUMP SIGNALS POTENTIAL IRAN DEAL AMID RENEWED BOMBING THREATS

U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that a diplomatic agreement with Iran is “very possible,” though he simultaneously warned of renewed military action should negotiations fail.

Despite this expressed optimism, Tehran has not yet formally accepted the latest American proposal, with high-ranking officials expressing skepticism regarding Washington’s true intentions.

The potential for a diplomatic breakthrough followed Trump’s decision to halt a brief military operation intended to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The President indicated that while he is hopeful for a resolution, the threat of force remains on the table.

”Iran agrees to give what has been agreed to,” the war would be over, but if not, the bombing would resume “at a much higher level and intensity.”

Speaking to the press later that day, Trump noted that discussions had progressed significantly within the previous day.

”We’ve had very good talks over the last 24 hours, and it’s very possible that we’ll make a deal,” Trump later told reporters.

In response, Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei confirmed that the administration is currently evaluating the American terms.

He noted that the “US plan and proposal are still under review,” and that Tehran would relay its final stance to Pakistan, which is acting as a mediator, once their internal review is complete.

However, the tone from other Iranian leaders remains guarded. Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, a key figure in the negotiations, cautioned that the U.S. strategy involves more than just diplomacy.

He warned that Washington “is seeking, through a naval blockade, economic pressure and media manipulation, to destroy the country’s cohesion in order to force us to surrender.”
