TV5 is set to diversify its afternoon programming by introducing a fresh “flavor” to Filipino viewers, moving away from the intense themes of traditional television series seen on other networks.
On Friday, May 8, the Kapatid Network released a teaser for the upcoming anime program “Cooking Master Boy,” which is slated to join the network’s “Hapon Champion” block.
The story follows the journey of Mao, a young chef who strives to take over his mother’s restaurant in Guangzhou following her passing.
”After his mother, the ‘Fairy of Cuisine,’ passes away, Mao strives to take over her restaurant in Guangzhou, battling the ‘Underground Cooking Society’ to defend his culinary integrity.”
Currently, the network’s 3:15 PM to 5:30 PM slot is occupied by popular foreign drama series from the streaming platform Viu, including Sky Castle and The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract. Another hit series, Reborn Rich, is scheduled to enter its final week starting Monday, May 11.
While the teaser has sparked excitement among anime fans, TV5 has yet to announce the specific premiere date and timeslot for the culinary-themed series.
