TV5 UNVEILS NEW WEEKEND ORIGINALS: PROJECT LOKI AND KUMUSTA

TV5 is set to bolster its weekend programming this 2026 with the introduction of two high-profile original series, “Project Loki” and “Kumusta,” signaling a strategic shift toward niche-driven and international-scale storytelling.

The network’s mystery-suspense slate is led by “Project Loki,” a live-action adaptation of the popular Wattpad novel by “Ako Si Ibarra.” The series, which premiered late February but continues its weekend run, features Dylan Menor, Jayda Avanzado, and Marco Gallo.

Directed by Xian Lim, the story follows a group of high school students at Clark University who form the Q.E.D. Club to solve cryptic puzzles and criminal activities.

“Project LOKI follows a group of students uncovering cryptic puzzles and secrets that blur the line between reality and deception.”

Following the youth-oriented thriller, TV5 is launching the cross-cultural culinary series “Kumusta” on May 24. This landmark collaboration between the Philippines and South Korea features Hallyu superstar Ji Chang Wook alongside a star-studded Filipino cast including Jodi Sta. Maria, Janella Salvador, Francine Diaz, and Arci Muñoz.

The program follows the group as they operate a functional Filipino pop-up restaurant in the heart of Seoul’s Gangnam district.

Under the guidance of Chef JP Anglo, the cast prepares traditional dishes like Chicken Inasal and Lechon for Korean diners. Ji Chang Wook, who took on the role of a server, noted his humility regarding the task:

“Actually, there is one reason that I chose to serve in the restaurant. It’s because I’m not good at cooking. So since I’m not good at cooking, if I go to the kitchen, it’s gonna be a big trouble for them.”

Both programs will occupy key weekend slots, with “Project Loki” airing at 8PM every Saturday and Sunday and “Kumusta” headlining the “Weekend Trip” block every Saturday at 8:45 PM and Sunday evenings at 7PM.
