The latest episode of the Philippines’ premier fan-driven music countdown show, VIBE, brought high energy despite the wet weather, serving up a spectacular lineup of live Original Pilipino Music (OPM) performances.
To kick off the rainy-day theme, the VIBE Jocks and Gen Vs delivered a powerful opening medley of seasonal anthems, including “Raining In Manila,” “Tuwing Umuulan,” “Rain,” “Bansang-Basa Sa Ulan,” and “Ulan.”
Rising Stars and Nostalgic Hits
- The Final Uprising Star: Fast-rising P-Pop group GenZix clinched the “Uprising Star of the Week” title with their comeback track “Teka Teka,” pulling in 41.65% of the votes. Group member Kiyo recommended their track “Salarin” as the ultimate rainy-day soundtrack, explaining the lyrics:
“Kung iniisip bakit ka laging masaya. Ako ang salarin.”
- Kiyo further elaborated on the emotional weight of the track, adding:
- 4th Place: Andi Chang debuted his acoustic-driven comeback single, “Litrato (what if).”
