VIBE PLUS LAUNCHES HISTORIC TV PARTNERSHIP AS OPM ICONS AND RISING STARS UNITE IN A GRAND SHOWCASE

MANILA, Philippines — In a monumental alliance bridging major Philippine networks, the freshest OPM countdown show VIBE PLUS has officially announced its historic broadcast partnership between ABS-CBN and TV5. The massive collaboration brings the ultimate Original Pilipino Music experience to wider audiences, with VIBE PLUS PLAYBACK airing every Sunday at 12 PM across ALLTV2, A2Z, the Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online LIVE, and iWant.

The grand launch event opened with an electrifying joint performance by Starworx talents and Kapamilya OPM acts Jeremy G. and Amy Nobleza, who treated the audience to renditions of “Randomatic” and “Sa Iyo.” Expressing their gratitude, both artists shared how honored they were to grace the VIBE stage for the very first time.

The high-energy showcase continued on the VIBE Spot stage with rap artist CLR delivering his hit track “IAFLS,” followed by the five-piece alternative barkada rock band IÚNO performing “AYAW!” Dedicated to those navigating unrequited closure, the band also announced their upcoming single, “Iwas Kilig,” slated for release on October 30.

Meanwhile, Kakie—daughter of Megastar Sharon Cuneta—made waves during the VIBE Drop segment with her self-composed song “Kontrabida.” Discussing the creative inspiration behind the track and its accompanying music video starring Elijah Canlas, Kakie shared:

”Partially was inspired my family’s relationship to the public as well my personal relationship to the public. Play lang siya on metaphor and I think that in the music video which is out starring Elijah Canlas and me, parang may toxic relationship din kami. Pero hindi yun true story.”

She further reflected on her artistic journey, noting that while she feels blessed to act in films, her true passion and heart ultimately belong to music.

The night also celebrated legendary industry veterans making their triumphant return to the VIBE stage. Asia’s Timeless Diva, Dulce, captivated the crowd with “Maalaala Mo Kaya” and “Ako ang Nasawi, Ako ang Nagwagi,” before imparting advice on longevity and humility in the industry:

”Dapat tayo nagpapasalamat, you know gratitude to the giver of the gift kasi yung talent nating lahat, hindi natin binili ‘yan! Binigay sa atin. Kaya dapat talaga nagpapasalamat. At inaalagaan ‘yan, hindi inaabuso, tandan niyo ‘yan.”

Following her was 90s heartthrob Raymond Lauchengco, who performed “I Need You Back” and his timeless graduation anthem “Farewell.” He also invited fans to his upcoming Generation X-dedicated concert titled “We Built the City,” happening on November 21.

Capping off the star-studded evening was international OPM icon Billy Crawford, marking his grand homecoming performance on TV5. Backed by Vibe Jocks Ryle and Joao, Crawford performed “Steamy Nights,” his self-composed track “Bright Lights,” and the hit single “Filipina Girl.”

Reflecting on his journey representing the Philippines abroad—including successful stints on Dancing with the Stars France and Masked Singer France—Crawford shared his joy of returning to local soil:

”Sa lahat naman ng mga blessings na dumating sa akin, overseas, malaking karangalan para sa akin. Its such a blessing na I’m doing my best na itayo ang bandera ng Pilipinas kahit papaano. And also, nagpapalaki din ako ng dalawang anak, but it such a blessing to comeback yung matatawag mong home. Diba? So, yung mga blessing sa ibang bansa, you really have to count your blessings somehow pero, iba pa rin pagdating mo dito, may danggit, may garlic rice, may tuyo. Wala dun! Kahit kanin wala sila dun kaya, wala akong paki-alam sa the other side.”

Crawford also teased an exciting upcoming collaboration with Paul ‘N Ballin’ which he hopes to debut on the VIBE stage.

As VIBE prepares for the much-anticipated return of its signature Main Vibe Leaderboard voting system, fans can catch the show every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday on TV5, One PH, the Kapatid Channel, Cignal Play, and official social media platforms.
