VIC CHOU REUNITES WITH PRODUCER ANGIE CHAI FOR TAIWANESE REMAKE OF ‘OUR BLUES’

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Following the success of his recent F4 reunion tour, Taiwanese actor Vic Chou is shifting his focus to television, starring in the upcoming Taiwanese adaptation of the hit South Korean drama Our Blues.

The project marks a major reunion between Chou and legendary Meteor Garden producer Angie Chai, nearly two decades after they last worked together.

In a report by Yahoo News Malaysia, Chou expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with Chai again and taking a more active role in the creative process.

“18 years is quite a long time. In the past, I preferred and was more accustomed to having everything arranged for me. This time, however, we had many exchanges of ideas right from the initial planning meetings. I believe Angie has seen my thoughts and convictions when it comes to my path as an actor,” Chou shared.

Chai also reflected on Chou’s professional evolution since their first collaboration in 2001, noting a distinct shift in his acting style and depth.

“This is completely different from Vic’s previous roles. This is the first time I’ve felt him stepping on the ground and becoming a local character,” Chai said.

In addition to his reunion with Chai, the series marks Chou’s third on-screen pairing with actress Janine Chang, following their previous work together in Black and White and Coming Home.

The original Our Blues, which premiered in 2022 and starred Lee Byung-hun and Shin Min-a, followed the interwoven lives, joys, and struggles of various individuals living on Jeju Island, eventually becoming one of the highest-rated series in Korean cable television history.
