Police forces across Western Visayas and Mimaropa have been placed on the highest level of alertness to secure the thousands of citizens visiting cemeteries and memorial parks for All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
Police Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño, director of the Police Regional Office VI, urged all deployed officers to maintain vigilance and proactivity amid the heavy influx of visitors.
Following inspections of several regional cemeteries, Tuaño expressed satisfaction with current security preparations.
”Our personnel were present at their designated posts in accordance with their duty details and this reflects our readiness and commitment to maintaining peace and order during the observance,” Tuaño said.
To guarantee adherence to the regional security plan, Tuaño noted that Red Teams from the Regional Headquarters were deployed to verify personnel distribution and evaluate operational readiness.
Meanwhile, Police Brig. Gen. Christopher dela Cruz, director of Police Regional Office 4B (Mimaropa), implemented a distinct oversight strategy.
He assigned senior Area Supervisors from the Command Group and Regional Staff to inspect key convergence zones and monitor security protocols firsthand.
”I have directed our Area Supervisors to personally check security preparations in their respective areas, ensure the proper deployment of personnel, and immediately address any gaps that may compromise public safety,” Dela Cruz stated.
”Our goal is to make this the safest Undas in MIMAROPA, ensuring that every family can pay tribute to their departed loved ones with peace of mind and return home safely,” he added.
Mimaropa security operations involve a total of 3,159 deployed police officers, supported by 246 Police Assistance Desks and Centers. Additionally, authorities mobilized 1,312 augmented personnel and 2,638 force multipliers to bolster public safety efforts across Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan.
Dela Cruz confirmed that no Undas-related incidents have been recorded so far, with officers maintaining high visibility to assist travelers and families.
”Police personnel will sustain security monitoring, police visibility, and coordination with partner agencies and local government units throughout the observance to help ensure the safe and peaceful commemoration of departed loved ones,” Dela Cruz concluded.
