Japanese broadcasting giant Fuji Television, in partnership with South Korea’s Sim Story and Hong Kong’s MakerVille, has officially announced the global premiere of kiDnap GAME, a high-stakes action-thriller series featuring veteran Filipino actor Joel Torre alongside an all-star pan-Asian ensemble. Billed as Fuji TV’s largest-ever international co-production, the 11-episode drama is scheduled to debut globally on October 6, 2026, across major television networks and digital streaming platforms, including Viu Philippines, Viu Thailand, South Korea’s Channel A, and Japan’s Fuji TV, TVer, and FOD.
The narrative of kiDnap GAME revolves around a deadly survival challenge triggered by coordinated, simultaneous abductions striking seven major Asian cities: Tokyo, Seoul, Manila, Bangkok, Taipei, Singapore, and Naha. As international headlines freeze in shock, the families of the victims receive chilling instructions forcing them to compete in high-risk missions where only one participant’s loved one is promised survival.
The high-concept production tests seven strangers from diverse nationalities and cultural backgrounds, pushing them to their emotional and physical limits in a tense race against time to uncover the mastermind pulling the strings behind the twisted game.
Veteran actor Joel Torre stars as Miguel, a hardworking Manila taxi driver whose world is upended when his young grandchild is abducted. His character’s emotional arc grounds the fast-paced thriller in themes of paternal sacrifice, resilience, and unconditional family devotion amid extreme adversity.
The series boasts a stacked international cast led by Japanese actor Kentaro Sakaguchi as a Tokyo detective hunting the truth after his wife is abducted, and South Korean superstar Lee Joon-gi as a surgeon forced to abandon his principles to save his kidnapped daughter.
