Manga publisher Manga Mavericks has officially announced its license acquisition of Sho Yunoko’s hit supernatural action-comedy manga series, Gago Hunters: Greetings from Amatsumizu City’s Gago Suppression Squad. The publisher plans to deliver a simultaneous global digital and physical print release on July 27, 2027.
Gago Hunters centers on the Gago Suppression Squad, an underfunded municipal division operating within the fictional setting of Amatsumizu City. The specialized team is tasked with hunting down and eradicating “Gago” supernatural spirit pests that plague public infrastructure and local neighborhoods.
The narrative follows an optimistic newly hired city hall bureaucrat who quickly learns that battling malicious spirits comes with just as much paperwork, strict budget constraints, and public complaints as standard civic administration. The series has earned praise for its unique blend of high-energy supernatural combat, workplace comedy, and satire on local government bureaucracy.
Manga Mavericks confirmed that Volume 1 will launch simultaneously across digital platforms and physical retail channels on July 27, 2027:
Digital editions will be available worldwide via BookWalker, Amazon Kindle, and Apple Books. Physical trade paperback volumes will distribute through comic shops, chain bookstores, and online retailers.
To celebrate the English release, physical and digital copies of Volume 1 will feature bonus content, including exclusive full-color illustrations and behind-the-scenes concept notes authored by Sho Yunoko.
