Fast-food giant McDonald’s is set to release two major anime-themed Happy Meal promotions, featuring a global crossover between One Piece × SpongeBob SquarePants and the official launch of the Chiikawa × McDonald’s Happy Meal collection in the Philippines.
‘One Piece × SpongeBob’ Global Crossover
The unique Happy Meal bundle will roll out across more than 60 regions worldwide starting September 15, 2026, following its reveal through a joint animated trailer by Toei Animation and McDonald’s.
The collection features 13 crossover toys with iconic Bikini Bottom characters dressed as One Piece favorites, including SpongeBob as Gear 5 Luffy, Patrick Star as Zoro, Squidward as Sanji, Mr. Krabs as Jinbe, and Pearl as Nico Robin.
‘Chiikawa’ Happy Meal in the Philippines
Meanwhile, McDonald’s Philippines has officially launched the Chiikawa Happy Meal series in local stores, bringing the viral mascots created by manga artist Nagano to Filipino fans.
The toy series showcases Chiikawa and friends dressed in various McDonald’s crew roles—with Chiikawa as the Store Manager, Kuri-Manju as a McCafé barista, and both Hachiware and Rakko as delivery drivers. Each collectible figure also serves double duty as a desk accessory and pencil topper.
These twin campaigns highlight McDonald’s continued effort to bridge global anime and pop culture franchises with fans in the Philippines and around the world.
