ABS-CBN SET TO RAISE ₱6 BILLION IN FRESH EQUITY

ABS-CBN Corporation announced it is raising ₱6 billion in fresh equity to reinforce its balance sheet and accelerate its strategic shift into a sustainable, content-focused media and entertainment enterprise.

Under the fundraising structure, three entities representing different branches of the Lopez family—Crème Investment Corporation, Mantes Corporation, and Presta Holdings Company Inc.—have committed ₱2.2 billion from their personal resources. In addition, Lopez Inc. will subscribe to an extra ₱300 million in shares.

The largest portion, amounting to ₱3.5 billion, will come from I&C Holdings Corporation, a private Philippine-owned investment firm specializing in long-term corporate turnarounds.

“ABS-CBN has built valuable brands, intellectual property, content and deep relationships with Filipino audiences in the Philippines and overseas,” I&C Holdings Corp. said. “As the media industry continues to evolve, we believe these assets provide a strong foundation for the company to adapt, build a sustainable content-led business, and create long-term value.”

The massive capital infusion marks a pivotal moment for the media giant as it continues to adapt its business model following the loss of its broadcast franchise.

“This substantial investment is a vote of confidence in ABS-CBN,” said Mark Lopez, chairman of ABS-CBN Corporation. “It tells us there are people who continue to believe in the company and in our mission of being In the Service of the Filipino.”

The finalization of the investments remains subject to definitive legal agreements alongside applicable corporate and regulatory approvals.
