Less than six months after parting ways, rumors are swirling about a potential reunion between media giants ABS-CBN and TV5.
This comes amid reports that TV5 might broadcast “Sigabo,” an upcoming action-comedy series from ABS-CBN Studios, Dreamscape Entertainment, and CCM Film Productions. The highly anticipated project stars Kapamilya Primetime King Coco Martin alongside his reel- and real-life partner, Julia Montes.
According to industry sources, negotiations are ongoing between the management of both networks to revive the partnership that collapsed at the start of 2026. Inside sources indicate that ABS-CBN is keen on airing not only Martin’s upcoming series but also its entire “Primetime Bida” block on the Kapatid network.
To recall, TV5 terminated its content supply agreement with ABS-CBN Corporation on December 3, 2025, which took effect on January 2, 2026. The split occurred after the Lopez-led content provider temporarily failed to settle financial obligations with the Manny V. Pangilinan-owned television giant—an issue that was eventually resolved.
While TV5 is reportedly eager to broadcast Martin’s new teleserye, the network prefers to reserve the second and third slots of its evening line-up for its home-grown programs. TV5’s current Todomax Primetime offerings, “A Secret in Prague” and “My Bespren Emman,” are reportedly struggling to secure strong viewership ratings on free TV.
As a compromise, TV5 has allegedly proposed utilizing those specific timeslots for potential co-productions between ABS-CBN Studios and TV5 Entertainment. This strategy would allow both networks to share a balanced programming lineup while protecting the visibility of TV5’s homegrown talents.
As of this writing, ABS-CBN, TV5, and Coco Martin’s camp have yet to sign a formal agreement or release an official statement regarding the negotiations.
