In a historic shift for Philippine television, ABS-CBN’s longest-running Sunday variety show, “ASAP XP,” is set to vacate its iconic noontime slot after over three decades to anchor the network’s late-afternoon programming.
A promotional teaser released on Friday, May 1, 2026, confirmed that starting May 17, the program will transition from its traditional 12:00 NN schedule to its new 5:30 PM timeslot. The move marks the end of an era for the variety show, which has been a staple of Sunday noontime viewing for the past 31 years.
Industry sources suggest the rescheduling stems from a strategic decision regarding market sustainability. Recent data indicates that the Sunday noontime slot currently holds a lower audience share compared to the weekday noontime block, which remains highly competitive with the dominance of programs like “It’s Showtime” and “EAT… Bulaga!.”
CONCERT EVENT PRECEDES THE MOVE
Before the timeslot shift officially takes place, “ASAP XP” will hold a massive, sold-out “two concerts in one day” event at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday, May 10. The live spectacle will feature performances at 12:00 NN and 7:00 PM, bringing together OPM icons and the new generation of superstars.
Footage from this milestone concert event is scheduled to be broadcast during the program’s debut in its new 5:30 PM slot on May 17.

Despite the change in schedule, the program will maintain its wide availability across multiple digital and broadcast channels.
