GMA News is set to launch a new daily news and information show on GTV focused on verifying viral claims, trending online posts, and major developing headlines.
Titled “Usap-usapan: What We Know So Far,” the 30-minute broadcast will debut on September 14. It will air weekdays at 6:00 p.m. as the lead-in program to “24 Oras.”
The program aims to examine breaking news alongside circulating online topics, determining if viral stories are factually accurate, false, or unverified pending further investigation.
Built with a conversational structure, the show features brief, accessible segments tailored for audiences accustomed to digital content.
At the core of the show are verification journalism segments where GMA News reporters cross-check information, contact involved parties, and collect supporting evidence before broadcasting their analysis.
Handling the verification and reporting for the program is Team Totoo, a dedicated unit of experienced journalists from GMA News. The initiative aims to assist viewers in distinguishing factual reports from online rumors and misinformation as developments break.
“Usap-usapan: What We Know So Far” premieres September 14, airing Mondays through Fridays at 6:00 p.m. on GTV.
