REGAL’S DRAMA SERIES ‘MANO PO LEGACY: THE FAMILY FORTUNE’ TO AIR ON TV5 STARTING JUNE 29

The 2022 family drama series Mano Po Legacy: The Family Fortune, produced by Regal Entertainment, is expanding its reach as it transitions to TV5 following its initial broadcast on GMA Network.

Derived from Regal’s classic Mano Po movie franchise, the television series features an ensemble cast spearheaded by Kapuso actors Barbie Forteza, David Licauco, Rob Gomez, Nikki Co, Dustin Yu, Darwin Yu, and Casie Banks. They share the screen with seasoned actresses Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan, Sunshine Cruz, and Boots Anson-Roa.

The project was penned by award-winning filmmaker and current Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) Chairperson Jose Javier Reyes, with Ian Loreños serving as director.

The plot centers on Steffy (Forteza) and Joseph (Gomez) in their relentless pursuit of justice for the death of Myla (Kate Yalung). Their investigation leads them to uncover alleged fraudulent insurance claims tied to the wealthy and influential Chan family.

The narrative intensifies when a grieving Valerie (Laxa-Pangilinan) confronts the Chan clan following the apprehension of her son, Jameson (Co). The internal warfare escalates further after family matriarch Consuelo (Anson-Roa) confesses her own complicity and cuts Jameson out of the family fortune, triggering a fierce rivalry between Valerie and Cristine (Cruz).

Driven by themes of corporate greed, betrayal, and deep-seated family secrets, the series builds toward a major confrontation over power, accountability, and the preservation of a family name.

Mano Po Legacy: The Family Fortune is scheduled to premier on TV5 on June 29. The afternoon drama will occupy the 3:15 p.m. timeslot every Monday as part of the network’s Hapon Champion block.
