TV5 is rolling out major updates to its weekday news programming starting Monday, August 10, following changes first teased during its midyear trade show on August 6.
After a five-year run, the morning show “Gud Morning Kapatid” aired its final broadcast on Friday, August 7. The show’s original hosting team will remain intact as they transition to the returning “Frontline sa Umaga,” which takes over the morning slot starting August 10.
Veteran journalist Ed Lingao joins the expanded morning team, with the program scheduled to broadcast weekdays from 5:30 AM to 8:00 AM.
Lingao’s shift to mornings marks his departure from the late-night newscast “Frontline Tonight.” Fellow TV5 news personality Lourd de Veyra takes over the anchor spot, joining continuing presenters Maeann Los Baños and showbiz host Jannie Alipo-on.
“Frontline Tonight” maintains its regular weeknight slot at 10:15 PM, airing immediately after “A Secret in Prague.”
