Months after deciding to launch its own independent programming lineup, TV5 is reportedly struggling to secure competitive television ratings for its four new shows introduced during the first five months of 2026.
Data from the National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM) by research firm AGB Nielsen revealed that the Kapatid Network’s romantic-thriller series, “A Secret in Prague,” only managed an average rating of 0.8% from May 18 to 22.
Similarly, its inspirational-drama series, “My Bespren Emman,” registered a low average TV rating of 0.76%. These figures trail significantly behind the flagship programs aired by rival networks GMA Network and ABS-CBN Studios on their respective television platforms.
The network’s new weekend block also failed to gain traction. The free TV broadcast of the digital series Project Loki, produced by MQuest Ventures and Studio VIVA, only garnered ratings between 0.4% and 0.5%. Meanwhile, the reality-cooking show “Kumusta,” a joint project of TV5 and Viu Philippines, settled for a meager 0.3%.
Compounding the network’s viewership slump, not a single program in TV5’s Sunday lineup reached the 1.0% threshold. The channel has even been overtaken by its own sister station on the Radio Philippines Network (RPN) block, RPTV, which benefits from broadcasting the live games of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
This downward trend follows TV5’s decision to terminate its content supply agreement with ABS-CBN Corporation on New Year’s Day 2026. The split prompted ABS-CBN to move its programming to Advanced Media Broadcasting System’s (AMBS) ALLTV2.
Consequently, ALLTV2 has successfully closed the audience share gap and, at times, surpassed TV5—marking a major turnaround for the AMBS station after over three years of stagnant ratings.
