MANILA, Philippines — The planned 2027 airing of TV5’s upcoming medical drama series The Good Doctor may be pushed back amid reported production challenges, including scheduling conflicts and concerns over staff salaries.
According to sources, the production has reportedly encountered difficulties in arranging shooting schedules due to the busy commitments of several cast members, particularly lead stars Iñigo Pascual and Janella Salvador. Questions surrounding the compensation of some members of the production staff have also reportedly emerged.
The Philippine adaptation of the 2017 American medical drama was initially included in TV5’s original programming lineup for 2026, following the network’s decision to end its content partnership with ABS-CBN.
However, with TV5 and ABS-CBN renewing their content agreement, The Good Doctor is among the Kapatid network’s series expected to become available across the platforms of both networks in April 2027.
As of this writing, TV5 has yet to issue a statement regarding the reported developments surrounding the series. The possibility of a delay in its planned release remains unconfirmed.
