Actor-turned-pastor Edward Barber surprised his supporters by revealing that he is now engaged to his non-showbiz partner, Ricki Umali.
The former Pinoy Big Brother housemate made the unexpected announcement while sharing a personal testimony before his church congregation, where he currently serves as a pastor-in-training.
During his address, a video clip of which went viral across social media platforms, the television host reflected on his personal journey and faith, sharing a photo of his partner on the church’s screen.
“From the last time I was here, I am now in an awesome relationship. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah! Don’t tell me that God is not real. I used to be the most single person in this place,” Barber shared.
He subsequently clarified to the attendees that the moment held a deeper significance beyond a simple relationship update.
“This is not the point of the sermon. I have a point for showing you all of this. This is not just my girlfriend; this is my fiancée, Ricki… I proposed to her, so she’s now my fiancée,” he announced.
The engagement marks another major life milestone for Barber, who was officially ordained as a pastor-in-training at Favor Church Manila earlier this year as part of his transition into ministry.
