Fan-powered OPM countdown VIBE PLUS concluded its month-long anniversary and Buwan ng Wika celebration with a jam-packed lineup featuring top Filipino musical acts and resident VIBE Jocks.
The special broadcast opened with patriotic performances of “Tayo’y Mga Pinoy” and “Panalo (Trap Trap Cariñosa)” by the resident hosts.
Pop Ballad Royalty Erik Santos anchored the early showcase, joining VIBE Jocks Carmela and Gigi for renditions of “Kulang Ako Kung Wala” and his debut Tagalog single, “Pagbigyang Muli.”
During the show, Santos reflected on his deep connection to local music:
“Alam niyo, napakasarap talagang ng awitin ng musikang Pilipino especially pagtagalog, ramdam na ramdam mo talaga yung bawat liriko, yung melodia ng bawat awitin. There’s something about OPM especially tagalog song kapag inawmit mo, yung ramdam na ramdam mo talaga. Tagos sa puso at kaluluwa.”
Santos also expressed gratitude to his long-time supporters and champions of OPM since his 2003 debut.
The energy continued with P-pop covers from the STAR WORX group—composed of Seiya, Abdul, Wayne, Nico, Spencer, Adam, and Patrick—who delivered energetic takes on Alamat’s “Day & Night,” BGYO’s “Gigil,” and GAT’s “Daleng-Dale.”
Meanwhile, VIBE Jock Dylan Menor took the stage with a remake of the classic track “Sa Aking Puso.”
Original performer Ariel Rivera sent a surprise video message to congratulate Menor on the new release:
“Hey Dylan! I want to how I happy I’am for you and so excited I’am for you, binabati kita sa bagong rendition ng “Sa Aking Puso” it made such a crucial part in my career and in my life at sobra siyang nagmarka. Sana magmarka din sa puso mo, Dylan. At sa puso ng bawat Kapatid. Congratulations, and I’m so happy and excited for you.”
Menor expressed his appreciation to Cignal, Universal Records, and MQuest for the opportunity to cover the Vehnee Saturno composition, while also thanking his fanbase.
Ahead of the final act, King of Acoustic Pop Nyoy Volante made his debut on the VIBE stage alongside VIBE Jock Ana, performing “Nasaan” and “Magkasuyo Buong Gabi.”
To cap off the night, rock veterans The Itchyworms headlined the main segment with live renditions of “Gusto Ko Lamang Sa Buhay” and “Beer,” following tribute covers of “Akin Ka Na Lang” and “Di Na Muli” by hosts Dylan and Gigi. Frontman Jugs Jugueta thanked the audience for braving the weather to join the celebration.
