MANILA, Philippines — Questions have emerged over the advertising support received by Eat… Bulaga!, the country’s longest-running noontime variety show, amid observations that its commercial placements have fallen below those of its rival, It’s Showtime.
Some viewers and observers have reportedly noticed that Eat… Bulaga!, which currently airs on TV5, carries fewer than 30 advertisements per day, raising speculation about the level of support it continues to receive from advertisers.

In contrast, It’s Showtime, produced by ABS-CBN and broadcast on GMA Network as well as other platforms, reportedly airs more than 100 advertisements on each television platform where the program is shown.

The apparent difference has prompted comparisons between the two competing noontime programs, particularly in terms of their ability to attract advertising placements and maintain commercial support.
The reported advertising volume for Eat… Bulaga! also appears lower than the support it received during its run on GMA Network and in the early years of its broadcast on TV5.
As competition in the Philippine noontime television landscape continues, the reported figures have sparked discussion about the advertising performance of the two long-running programs.
