KANGKONG CHIPS ORIGINAL FOUNDER JOSH MOJICA ACQUIRES BLACKLIST INTERNATIONAL

In a landmark development for the Philippine esports industry, young entrepreneur Josh Mojica, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Kangkong Chips Original (KCO), has officially acquired Blacklist International from Tier One Entertainment. The high-profile acquisition marks a new corporate chapter for one of Southeast Asia’s most decorated competitive gaming organizations.

Blacklist International built a dominant global legacy centered around its flagship Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) roster, famously capturing the M3 World Championship title in 2021 before securing back-to-back podium finishes as M4 runner-up in 2023 and M5 second runner-up.

Beyond its flagship MLBB roster, the agency expanded its competitive footprint across multiple major titles, fielding rosters in Dota 2 under the Blacklist Rivalry banner, alongside operational teams in Honor of Kings and Call of Duty: Mobile. Recent franchise slot realignments and roster restructurings had placed the organization into a transitional phase prior to the buyout.

The purchase represents Mojica’s inaugural entry into professional sports and esports franchise ownership, extending his viral snack empire into digital entertainment and competitive gaming media.

According to initial statements, the acquisition introduces fresh financial backing aimed at establishing a long-term operational model. Mojica outlined his core strategic objective as “preserving a legacy of Philippine esports excellence while building a sustainable operational model” capable of competing at the highest international levels.

Under new ownership, Blacklist International is formulating a comprehensive roadmap to restore its competitive presence across the region. The organization is actively evaluating franchise slot acquisitions and strategic partnerships to secure a competitive return to the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines for upcoming seasons.

Operational plans are currently underway to scout emerging local talent, re-establish tier-one coaching structures, and secure competitive contracts for prospective players. Furthermore, Mojica plans to integrate consumer snack branding alongside traditional tech and corporate sponsors under the unified Blacklist International umbrella to drive sustainable multi-channel revenue.

With renewed corporate backing and capital investment, Blacklist International aims to re-establish its status as a premier competitive powerhouse within Southeast Asian esports.
