MANILA, Philippines — South Korean actor Hwang In-youp delighted Filipino fans during his “To You” fan meeting at the New Frontier Theater, revealing an interest in starring in a local television series produced by ABS-CBN.
During the October 31 event, the actor reflected on his childhood connection to the country, having previously spent part of his school years studying in Davao City.
“My original school was from here, and if there is an opportunity to do a drama where I can wear a Filipino-style school uniform and go to the same high school as the girl in my class, I think that would be very special,” Hwang shared.
The fan meeting, presented by L-Squared Productions, featured various interactive segments, including romantic role-play scenarios, musical performances of covers and soundtracks, games, and a hi-touch session.
Embracing the local audience, Hwang also spoke to his supporters in Tagalog, stating:
“Kung nasaan ka man, pupuntahan kita.”
Concluding the program, the actor thanked his fans for their ongoing support and expressed a desire to remain a source of pride for them.
“As I also said during my fan meeting in Korea, all of you will leave this venue later and go back to your daily lives, and I will continue being the person and actor that I am. I hope to be someone you will never be ashamed of supporting and loving.”
Following the main program, Hwang surprised fans waiting near the venue’s exit by stepping out of his vehicle to bid them farewell before preparing for his upcoming television series, Human X Gumiho.
