Lopez Holdings Corporation has appointed Benjamin Lopez as its new President, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Risk Officer. He takes over from long-time corporate leader Salvador Tirona, who is stepping down following a 26-year tenure with the conglomerate.
The leadership transition brings a member of the founding family into key operational and financial roles. Lopez, who continues to lead INAEC Aviation Corporation as president and serves as senior executive vice president and co-chairman of Lopez Inc., brings three decades of executive experience within the group.
His history with the conglomerate began in October 1993 at First Philippine Holdings Corporation (FPH), where he was named vice president in November 2006 and later appointed director and vice chairman in March 2023.
Between 1995 and 2004, Lopez also managed business development, sales, marketing, and project development at Rockwell Land Corporation, where he maintains a seat on the board of directors.
Tirona’s departure marks the end of a major chapter for the holding company. Since 2010, he served as director, president, and chief operating officer, while also acting as chief financial officer—a post he assumed in September 2005.
During his time with the group, Tirona managed key financial strategies and turnarounds, serving as director and CFO of Bayan Telecommunications, Inc. and overseeing the 2003 rehabilitation program for Maynilad Water Services, Inc.
