The Bureau of Immigration (BI) confirmed that there is no official travel record indicating Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa has left the Philippines, addressing public speculation regarding his whereabouts.
BI Spokesperson Dana Sandoval stated in an exclusive interview that the agency’s official monitoring systems show no recent outbound travel for the lawmaker.
“Sa records po natin, wala po siyang recent travel. Wala po siyang attempt na umalis sa isang city, (In our records, he has no recent travel. He has no attempt to leave any city),” Sandoval said, emphasizing that no departure activity has been registered.
However, when questioned about the possibility of the senator slipping out through the country’s maritime border loopholes, Sandoval acknowledged that authorities are not ruling out such scenarios.
“Well, there’s always that possibility po (Well, there’s always that possibility),” she said, noting that potential illegal migration corridors are under continuous surveillance in coordination with local government units, the Philippine National Police (PNP), and other law enforcement bodies.
Sandoval maintained that airport security and border monitoring remain standard, joint operations among the PNP, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and the Department of Justice (DOJ).
“Normal po yan. Meron tayong mga police at meron po tayong mga NBI… it’s an everyday routine po sa atin (That is normal. We have the police and we have the NBI… it’s an everyday routine for us),” she added, describing the persistent presence of law enforcement at primary border points.
She further explained that while inter-agency cooperation remains robust, specific operational details regarding recent deployments cannot be fully disclosed due to the distinct jurisdictions within airport security zones.
Immigration authorities reiterated that they remain on high alert, strictly monitoring all entry and exit points to prevent unauthorized departures through irregular routes.
