DEPED REAFFIRMS SUPPORT FOR PRIVATE SCHOOLS DURING BGC CAMPUS VISIT

​The Department of Education (DepEd) has reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating closely with private educational institutions to raise academic standards, ensure student safety, and elevate learning outcomes across the country.

​Education Secretary Sonny Angara highlighted this commitment during his visit to Sproutville International School in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), where he reviewed the school’s programs aimed at bolstering quality basic education.

​Joined by NCR Assistant Secretary and Regional Director Dr. Jocelyn Andaya, the delegation observed the institution’s academic framework, facilities, and emergency protocols:

  • Montessori Approach: Officials toured classrooms, innovation labs, and resource centers, noting how the school’s Montessori principles and custom-built environments promote student independence, creativity, and critical thinking.
  • Faculty Discussions: DepEd representatives met with teachers and administrators to discuss early childhood education strategies and their alignment with national standards.
  • Safety Protocols: The visit coincided with a Synchronized Earthquake and Fire Drill organized by the BGC Community Safety Task Force. Observing the smooth evacuation, officials praised the school’s adherence to campus safety and disaster readiness.

​The engagement concluded with an exchange of commemorative tokens and a joint pledge between DepEd and Sproutville International School to foster inclusive, innovative, and future-ready education for Filipino students.
