MALACAÑANG DENIES CABINET SHAKE-UP, AFFIRMS TRUST IN CURRENT OFFICIALS

Malacañang on Tuesday firmly shut down fresh speculation regarding a Cabinet shake-up, asserting that the current administration remains stable and no reorganization has occurred.

During a Palace briefing, Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro addressed persistent rumors of movements within at least three government agencies, clarifying that no official directives for change have been issued.

“Sa ngayon po ay wala pa rin pong ipinapaabot sa atin na update pero kapag mayroon ibibigay ko po agad sa inyo.”

The questions arose as the one-year appointment ban on losing candidates from the previous election recently lapsed, sparking theories that President Bongbong Marcos might integrate new political figures into his team.

Specifically, when asked about the potential return of former Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos to the administration, Castro remained non-committal.

“Hindi ko po masasabi sa ngayon.”

Despite the lack of information regarding specific appointments, Castro emphasized that the President’s trust and confidence in his current Cabinet members remain steadfast, effectively cooling talks of an imminent leadership reshuffle across the executive branch.
