The Office of the Ombudsman has formally acknowledged receipt of a partial committee report from Senator Ping Lacson detailing alleged irregularities within national flood control projects.
Assistant Ombudsman Mico Clavano confirmed that the document has been integrated into the agency’s ongoing efforts to probe infrastructure-related anomalies.
“I am confirming receipt of the transmittal of the partial committee report from the office of Senator Ping Lacson.”
According to Clavano, the findings will not sit idle but will be utilized to bolster existing investigations currently being conducted by the agency’s specialized units.
“The relevant information will be cascaded to the teams in charge of the different flood control cases for their perusal and use, if necessary.”
The transmittal follows a prior announcement by Senator Lacson that the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee would share its gathered evidence with both the Ombudsman and the Department of Justice (DOJ).
The move signals a concerted effort by the legislature to seek accountability for alleged corruption in projects that have long been a source of public frustration and congressional scrutiny.
While the transmittal marks a significant step in the legal process, officials have remained tight-lipped regarding the specific evidence or the names of individuals implicated in the report.
