Philippine Airlines (PAL) announced on Saturday, September 5, that its FurPAL program has been updated to permit cats inside aircraft cabins across all domestic routes.
The national flag carrier previously expanded the initiative earlier this year to include small dogs weighing up to 10 kilograms and at least eight weeks of age on all local flights.
”For a one-way fee starting at ₱2,500, the enhanced program now allows small cats to travel in the aircraft cabin, subject to applicable requirements and guidelines,” PAL said.
”By making pet-friendly travel more accessible, passengers may now bring one small dog or cat inflight and enjoy every step of the journey with greater comfort and peace of mind,” the flag carrier said.
Under the updated safety and health guidelines, feline passengers must be secured inside a soft-sided, leak-proof pet carrier fitted with pee pads and at least two ventilation windows. The carrier must remain stowed under the seat directly in front of the owner for the entire duration of the flight.
Initially introduced in November 2025, the FurPAL program was limited to select destinations, including Boracay, Bohol, and Siargao.
”By welcoming cats alongside dogs, FurPAL enables more pet families to travel with the companions they consider part of the family,” PAL said.
